HoYoverse official live stream of Honkai Star Rail 1.6 ended a while ago. The official release date, banner, and event details were announced in the live stream. The new patch is titled Crown of the Mundane and Divine. In this article, we will summarize everything that was revealed during the stream.
Honkai Star Rail 1.6 Release Date
Honkai Star Rail's Version 1.6, titled "Crown of the Mundane and Divine" is scheduled for release on December 27th. This version is anticipated to run for six weeks, extending into the early days of February. Players will have a lot of interesting content to look forward to in this version.
Honkai Star Rail 1.6 New Characters
In version 1.6 of Honkai Star Rail, three new playable characters are making their debut: Ruan Mei, Dr. Ratio, and Xueyi, alongside the return of 5-star characters Blade and Kafka.
It's worth noting that Dr. Ratio will be available for free to players who unlock the mail system and log in between his Banner's release in version 1.6 and the end of version 2.1.

Floral Triptych & A Lost Soul ( December 27th - January 17th, 2024 )
Phase 1 of the 1.6 Banner schedule kicks off with Ruan Mei and Blade, featuring the debut of 4-star Xueyi. Honkai Star Rail Ruan Mei, a new 5-star Ice attacker who follows The Harmony Path, takes the spotlight in her Floral Triptych Banner. Honkai Star Rail Blade, a returning 5-star Wind attacker of the Destruction path, headlines his A Lost Soul Banner. Honkai Star Rail Xueyi, a new 4-star Quantum attacker of the Destruction path, makes her debut in both the Banners. Phase 1 Banners will run from Wednesday, December 27th, to Wednesday, January 17th, 2024.
The characters highlighted in this phase are:
- Xueyi (Quantum, The Destruction)
- March 7th (Ice, The Preservation)
- Tingyun (Lightning, The Harmony)

Ruan Mei ★★★★★ Path – Harmony Element –Ice Ruan Mei is a 5-star Ice character who follows the Path of Harmony. She is a member of the Genius Society and has the potential to compete with Bronya for the title of the best support in the game. She brings a valuable set of abilities to the team, enhancing damage, speed, and weakness-break efficiency for the entire squad. Ruan Mei can also extend the duration of Weakness Break on enemies while dealing some damage against them. |

Blade excels as a DPS, delivering massive damage to both single targets and multiple targets. He uses his own HP for his powerful attacks. Xueyi ★★★★ Path – Destruction Element –Quantum Xueyi is a 4-star character of Quantum element who follows the Path of Destruction. She inhabits a puppet body to continue fulfilling her role even after her original body's demise. Xueyi inflicts Quantum Damage, both to individual targets and groups. Her Ultimate has the unique feature of bypassing Weakness Types. Xueyi is particularly effective in delivering potent follow-up attacks when the Toughness of enemies has been consistently decreased. |

In Phase 2 of version 1.6, we have Dr. Ratio and Kafka. Dr. Ratio is a new 5-Star Imaginary attacker of The Hunt path in his Panta Rhei Banner, and Kafka is a returning 5-Star Lightning attacker of the Nihility path on her Nessun Dorma Banner. These 2 Banners are expected to run from Wednesday, January 17th, 2024, to Tuesday, February 6th, 2024.

Dr. Ratio ★★★★★ Path – Hunt Element –Imaginary Dr. Ratio is a 5-star Imaginary character who follows the Path of Hunt. In combat, he excels as a strong single-target DPS, with a chance to unleash follow-up attacks against enemies. The likelihood of triggering follow-up attacks increases with any debuff on his target. A team composition featuring characters with debuff abilities is recommended to maximize Dr. Ratio's effectiveness. |

Honkai Star Rail 1.6 Limited-Time Events
During the 1.6 update to Honkai Star Rail, three limited-time events will be introduced alongside the permanent content and login events. Here's a summary of these time-limited events.
Critter Pick

In Critter Pick, players engage in cultivating and caring for adorable creatures on the Herta Space Station. There's even a chance to create 'mutated' versions of these creatures under specific circumstances. Additionally, players get to control Peppy (Asta's dog) during certain parts of the event. Rewards for Critter Pick include a chatbox design, Stellar Jade, Tracks of Destiny, and character and Light Cone level-up materials.
Virtual Scentventure
This uniquely themed event involves using 'Scent Plugins' to gain buffs against illusionary enemies as part of testing for the Department of Ecology on Herta Space Station. While facing familiar enemies, their attacks and buffs differ this time. Virtual Scentventure rewards consist of Stellar Jade, Tracks of Destiny, Relic Remains, as well as materials for character and Light Cone level-ups.
Pure Fiction
Pure Fiction is now a permanent part of Honkai: Star Rail, and it alternates every two weeks with Memory of Chaos updates. However, each time Pure Fiction and Memory of Chaos happen, they last for six weeks. This gives you more time to finish them, even if there's a new update.
In Pure Fiction, your goal is to complete stages by earning as many points as possible before the cycles end. Enemies keep showing up until the cycles are finished, allowing you to get high scores. The better you perform, the more stars you earn on each stage. You also get buffs that you can use to build your teams strategically, helping you achieve a better score.
Similar to Memory of Chaos after its next update, you can collect a total of 720 Stellar Jade by earning three stars in all stages of Pure Fiction during each update. Additionally, reaching a specific stage rewards you with the 4-Star Abundance character Lynx for free!
